Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including assisted living facilities and nursing homes. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring their comfort and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy, as well as experience with electronic health records systems such as eClinicalWorks.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Provide support in mobility and transferring patients safely using proper lifting techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care activities.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs and progress.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Assist with basic life support measures when necessary and respond to emergencies promptly.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to patient care and safety.
Requirements
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience in healthcare settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and basic life support techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
- Experience working in assisted living or nursing home environments is advantageous.
- Ability to lift patients safely and assist with mobility tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize with patients' needs.
