We are seeking a full-time dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with expertise in medication evaluation and management to join our team. You will play a crucial role in providing expert evaluation, prescription, and monitoring of psychotropic medications to our diverse patient population. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Independent Management Services of Minnesota, Inc. you will be an important part of a dynamic outpatient mental health provider making important contributions to the mental health of our local communities.
We do not require after hours or weekend call and are able to offer a high degree of schedule flexibility to help with work/life balance. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric diagnostic assessments, evaluates need for medications, and prescribe as indicated.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring patient understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with others involved in treatment planning.
- Maintain detailed and sensitive patient records, adhering to all privacy and confidentiality regulations.
- Prepare reports as required, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and clinic policies in all documentation and reporting activities.
- Proficient in the use of computers; experience with Electronic Health Records is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Psychiatric Nursing from an accredited college or university; active and unrestricted State of Minnesota License to practice medicine.
- Knowledgeable about adult, adolescent, and child psychiatric disorders, and advanced principles of abnormal psychology.
- Experience working with diverse and underserved populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, culturally competent mental health care to individuals and families in the community.
