What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Program Staff (Vacation Pay + Benefits) position at Independent Options, Inc.?
This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working closely with adults with development disabilities in a classroom setting. The Program Staff will work with up to 3 participants in a classroom setting teaching various life skills, activities, and subjects including art, music, history, etc. The Program Staff monitor client behaviors and implement proper behavior management techniques as needed. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Deliver instruction and implement planned activities in a 3:1 classroom setting.
- Monitor client's behaviors and appropriately intervene when needed.
- Assisting clients with bathroom needs.
- Chart on participant's goals, behaviors, and special incidents.
SKILLS YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED:
- Ability to communicate efficiently with staff and consumers
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT IF SELECTED:
- The Program Director of the program will reach out to set up an in-person interview.
- You will be asked to fill out Independent Option’s employment application.
WHAT TO EXPECT IF YOU ARE HIRED:
- Participate in a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and receive tuberculosis (TB) clearance
- Participate in a criminal history background check through the Department of Justice and receive clearance
- Attend a paid, three-day New Hire Orientation training at our corporate office located in Corona
- Become certified in: CPR, AED, and First Aid | Medication Administration | CPI’s Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training*

PROGRAM STAFF SCHEDULE AND HOURS
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Times may vary)
