New-to-District Classified employees may be eligible to receive credit for up to two years’ worth of credit for movement (steps) on the Classified Salary Schedule based on relevant prior work experience. Please complete the top portion of this form and provide it to your previous employer for completion. To qualify, newly hired employees must provide this form, completed by your former employer(s), to Human Resources no later than the date of their fingerprinting and appointment.
Index: 01/H/02 ($22.61/hour) to 01/H/04 ($24.46/hour) depending on verified experience for NEW to District Employees
Transferring employees or former District employees hired into this role will be placed on the "H" letter grade of the Classified Salary Schedule, but the initial step placement will vary based on a variety of factors.

Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERSI) and are provided to Classified employees who work at least half time (20 hours per week) or more in a regular position and to Certified employees with a .50 FTE or greater contract.

- High school diploma or GED equivalency; preferably supplemented with college level coursework in a health field; and
- CPR certification and First Aid certification are required; and
- Two (2) years general school health related experience is preferred; or
- Ability to communicate regularly and often with assigned supervising nurse;
- Handle health related issues in an efficient and calm manner;
- Prepare and maintain accurate student health records in a clear and concise manner; Provide basic first aid and CPR, and assist with the administration of medications; Demonstrate patience and compassion in communicating with students, staff and parents; Properly use and clean medical equipment such as thermometers, blood pressure cuff, etc.; Travel between schools;
- Operate a personal computer and job-related software;
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
- Perform multiple tasks simultaneously, including handling interruptions, and return to and complete tasks in a timely manner;
- Maintain first aid and CPR certifications;
- Maintain office, school, and individual confidentiality.
- Knowledge of laws and codes which control and limit the provision of health services; Knowledge of laws and policies that deal with the confidentiality of student records.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform as an effective and competent Health Technician.
The Health Technician is an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) whose role is to complement the Registered Nurse in the performance of providing health care to students, monitoring and recording student and staff health issues and performing related work as required. This work is performed as delegated and supervised by a Registered Nurse and Site Administrator.
