For positions that qualify, the District offers a benefit package that is valued at more than $10,000 annually. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERSI) and are provided to Classified employees who work at least half time (20 hours per week) or more in a regular position and to Certified employees with a .50 FTE or greater contract.

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred; Associate Diploma of Nursing considered if the candidate has two or more years experience in school nursing, pediatric nursing, mental health nursing, community health nursing or emergency nursing; and
- Current Idaho Registered Nurse License; and
- Ability to obtain State of Idaho Pupil Service Staff Certification with a School Nurse endorsement; and
- CPR Certification
A School Nurse is a professional Registered Nurse who provides a comprehensive nursing program that promotes and improves student health, maximizing the quantity of in-class time by reducing the incidence of health related absenteeism, eliminating or minimizing health problems which impair learning and achieving the highest degree of independent functioning possible. The School Nurse collaborates with a wide variety of professionals, parents and community resources to remove health-related barriers to learning and prevent illness and injury promoting an optimal level of wellness for students. School Nurses serve in the roles of health program coordinator, case manager, direct care provider, collaborator, advocate and educator for one or more schools. The work is performed independently under the general guidance of the Health Services Supervisor and with the collaboration of the School Principal.
