JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Principal to lead our educational institution. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for educating students. This role requires a visionary leader who can foster a positive learning environment, implement strategic initiatives, and drive academic excellence. The Principal will work closely with faculty, staff, students, and the community to enhance the educational experience and ensure the success of all students.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leadership and Management:
- Provide a clear vision for the school, aligned with the district's strategic goals.
- Supervise and evaluate all school personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
- Manage the school's budget and resources effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all district policies and state and federal regulations.
- Maintain a safe and orderly school environment.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the school's improvement plan.
2. Curriculum and Instruction:
- Supervise and implement the district's curriculum, ensuring effective instruction and assessment practices.
- Lead and support teachers in implementing effective, research-based instructional strategies.
- Build and supervise the school's master schedule.
- Collaborate with the Director of Teaching and Learning to implement district curriculum initiatives.
- Promote data-based decision making to improve student outcomes.
3. Professional Development and Support:
- Develop the professional capacity of school personnel through regular professional development opportunities.
- Support Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and building leadership teams.
- Collaborate with the Instructional Coach to enhance teaching and learning.
- Address intolerant statements and behaviors promptly and effectively.
4. Student Support and Well-being:
- Support and provide Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) for students.
- Ensure that all students have access to the resources and support they need to succeed.
- Collaborate with families and community partners to address student needs.
5. Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including parents, students, staff, and the community.
- Build strong relationships with parents and community partners.
- Foster a positive and collaborative school culture.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in education administration or a related field.
- Valid Iowa administrative license or eligibility for licensure.
- Successful experience as an elementary school principal or assistant principal is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to creating a positive and equitable learning environment for all students.
