What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Engineer, Level 4 position at Independent Software?
What you will be doing!
As a Level 4 Systems Engineer, you will apply systems engineering principles throughout all phases of the system's life cycle, including Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. You will collaborate with government representatives on technical considerations related to systems engineering and address any problems, issues, or conflicts that may arise. Additionally, you will communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of the work and deliverables.
Requirements:
- Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
- Perform systems engineering activities and develop and deliver work products of the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas.
- Independently analyze and recommend alternatives for elements of the project's technical design.
- Supervise or coordinate the work of other contractor engineers or technicians on a project.
- Analyze and propose appropriate engineering standards and processes for a project.
- Assist in evaluating and determining its suitability for project implementation.
- Assist in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue.
- Brief stakeholders and present the status of all technical aspects of their project.
- Independently make decisions regarding engineering issues and methodology for a project.
- Lead contractor systems engineering activities for a project to include supervising the work of
- Independently resolve important engineering issues requiring the use of advanced technology.
- Plan and develop engineering projects with unique or complex aspects that impact the enterprise's major capabilities of high priority.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more Process Areas defined in the ISO/IEC 15288.
Experience and Education:
- Ten (10) years of systems engineering experience.
- A bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline. OR
- A High School Diploma or GED plus fourteen (14) years of general systems engineering experience(any process area). OR
- A Master's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience. OR
- A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus six (6) years of systems engineering experience.
Clearance Required: Must possess an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role
