What you will be doing!
As a Systems Engineer, Level 5, you will apply systems engineering principles throughout the various phases of the systems life cycle: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. You will interact with Government representatives regarding technical considerations related to systems engineering and address any associated problems, issues, or conflicts that may arise. Additionally, you will communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of the work performed and the deliverables
Requirements:
- Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
- Perform systems engineering activities and develop and deliver work products of the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas.
- Independently analyze and recommend alternatives for elements of the project's technical design.
- Supervise or coordinate the work of other contractor engineers or technicians on a project.
- Analyze and propose appropriate engineering standards and processes for a project.
- Assist in evaluating and determining its suitability for project implementation.
- Assist in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue.
- Brief stakeholders and present the status of all technical aspects of their project.
- Independently make decisions regarding engineering issues and methodology for a project.
- Lead contractor systems engineering activities for a project to include supervising the work of
- Independently resolve important engineering issues requiring the use of advanced technology.
- Plan and develop engineering projects with unique or complex aspects that impact the enterprise's major capabilities of high priority.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more Process Areas defined in the ISO/IEC 15288.
Experience and Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus fifteen (15) years of systems engineering experience. OR
- A High School Diploma or GED plus nineteen (19) years of general systems engineering experience (any Process Area)
- A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.OR
- A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eleven (11) years of systems engineering experience
