What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driveline Design System Engineer position at InDepth Engineering Solutions, LLC?
The Driveline design system engineer is responsible for managing the system interfaces and interactions between components & subsystems of the driveline systems for one or more vehicle programs. The role requires leadership skills to drive collaboration across release engineering / COE teams (for compliance to engineering best practices) vehicle design team and other crossfunctional groups including but not limited to virtual engineering vehicle design team purchasing quality manufacturing plants and field service.
The responsibilities include managing assembly (BOM) part# complexity charts (including all Axle & Driveline Systems with a clear definition of each assembly part#) benchmarking packaging within vehicle environment working with release / development engineers to develop robust virtual and hardwarebased system DVP&Rs with effective utilization of DFMEA / DRBFM.
Lead program design reviews support program gate reviews plan leadership reviews and ensure adequate tracking of deliverables and timely closure of open items to enable an ontime execution of programs launches and document program lessons learned.
Lead or support rootcause analysis and resolution of customer field issues and support resolution of manufacturing and assembly concerns. Provide status updates on projects and issues to the leadership team to maintain transparency.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics Mechanical Electrical Aerospace Industrial or related Engineering field
5 years experience in design release development and validation of driveline / axle / AWD programs
Driving of vehicle required
Onsite 35 days per week.
Preferred Requirements :
Master of Science in Mechanical Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering
Experience in use of Virtual Tools for driveline / axle programs
Experienced with DFSS RedX and Shainin Methods
5 years\' experience in design release, development, and validation of driveline / axle / AWD programs Driving of vehicle required Onsite 3-5 days per week.
