- Overview: As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair vehicle bumper to bumper.
- Inspect and repair electrical and electronic systems.
- Repair cooling components and systems, including air conditioners and engine cooling.
- Perform emissions inspections, safety checks, and state-regulated vehicle examinations.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Produce accurate and legible paperwork reflecting work performed.
- Conduct test drives to ensure proper vehicle operation.
- Perform vehicle software up-dates.
- Identify quality issues.
- Ability to work with cross functional teams to root cause quality issues.
- Assist in Quality Engineering investigations/teardowns, and vehicle warranty repairs.
- Perform vehicle maintenance where applicable.
- Support Engineering with special studies/projects.
- Perform vehicle quality and reliability audits documenting quality issues.
- Perform all procedures as directed by Management.
- Communicate status updates on vehicle repairs.
- Collaborate with other technicians and service advisors to ensure efficient workflow.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
- Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to identify vehicle issues.
- Requirements:
Required Skills:
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques.
- 5 years of automotive repair experience.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and explain vehicle issues.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are performed accurately.
- Time Management: Efficiently manage time to complete tasks within deadlines.
- Regularly perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy objects.
- Ability to work in various positions, such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification from a recognized automotive training program (e.g., ASE certification).
- Valid driver's license.
