Title: UI/UX Designer – Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
Location: Ashburn, VA
*** Active DHS CBP security clearance required to be eligible for this role. ***
Indev is seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer to improve the appearance and usability of products for our federal customer. Ultimately, you’ll create both functional and appealing features that address our clients’ unique training needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design new application features and services that meet business and mission needs while providing an intuitive customer experience. Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers.
- Design graphic elements and navigation components
- Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, and widgets
- Build page navigation buttons and search fields.
- Develop UI prototypes to demonstrate functionality to internal team and stakeholders.
- Identify and troubleshoot UX problems and adjust.
- Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
- Work with wireframe tools (e.g. Wireframe.cc and InVision) and design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Ensure that all elements of the online user experience are optimized for improved usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design.
- Provide advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities to analyze and predict user behavior.

Required Qualifications:
- Must be US citizen a federal clearance at DHS CBP
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer working with the government
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with design software and wireframe tools
- Ability to quickly prototype solutions
- Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: Sketch, InVision, Visio, HTML, CSS (SCSS), iOS, Android, Design Systems, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Proven experience with web/mobile applications
