We are seeking a Logisitics Supervisor that will oversee aspects of our logistics operations ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective transportation, distribution and storage of goods.
Responsibilities -
Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of logistics professionals, including driver, material handlers, and clerks.- Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery of goods to clients.
- Ensure efficient use of storage and transportation resources.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to reduce costs, improve delivery efficiency, and optimize supply chain processes.
- Manage relationships with external transportation partners.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements with logistics providers to ensure competitive pricing and service quality communication including finance in decisions.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on logistics activities, and transportation metrics.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, transportation costs, and inventory accuracy including FIFO
- Address any logistics-related issues or challenges, working quickly to resolve problems that may arise during transportation or storage.
- Utilize logistics management software to track shipments, optimize routes, and analyze data to improve operational performance.
- Oversee the daily operations of the transportation department, ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies. This role involves managing drivers, coordinating schedules, and maintaining safety standards.
- Ensure all transportation activities comply with DOT regulations, including hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Supervise driver and other logistics team members. Conduct training on safety and operational procedures.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety standards and are in good working condition.
Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in transportation or logistics, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred.
Certifications in safety and compliance (e.g., OSHA) are a plus
