The Role
The Production Superintendent is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day activities in our manufacturing facilities including but not limited to employee safety, product quality, housekeeping, 5S, production efficiencies, machine uptime, waste, planning and scheduling, and timekeeping. This role will serve as a member of our leadership team reporting to the Plant Manager, requiring discretion and independent judgement. They will have to access confidential information in addition to considering, comparing, and evaluating data and processes, and recommending different courses of action. The Production Supervisors will report to the Production Superintendent.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and guidance in terms of Safety, Quality and Productivity.
Provide leadership and guidance to the Production Supervisors.
3 years of experience in the blown-film manufacturing industry.
Work, act, think and converse in terms of improving processes and eliminating waste.
Coordinate and control updates by distributing new and revised safety, quality & production standards to direct reports.
Assist in defining and prioritizing operational goals and objectives to meet customer deadlines.
Assist in directing the team in solving specific challenges and overcoming project roadblocks when necessary, so that agreed upon goals and objectives are met
Work directly with maintenance by evaluating machinery or tools and creating maintenance work orders
Formulate solutions to minimize downtime and waste, as well as maximizing product quality, employee job satisfaction, and profit margin
Monitor and control waste to manage costs and reduce environmental impacts
Maintain and foster positive relationships with support functions including Quality, Maintenance/Engineering, and Technical to ensure alignment with overall plant operations.
Implement & monitor programs as directed by Plant Manager and see programs through to completion.
Develop SOP’s.
Create and implement Training Modules and Skill Matrix.
- Detail-orientation required for completing required paperwork and information system’s inputs with a high degree of accuracy.
- Mechanical aptitude/experience is highly preferred.
- Able to read and understand job tickets and provide verbal direction to successfully complete procedures and required tasks.
- Capable of performing mathematical calculations and properly using tape measures and micrometers.
- Flexibility in work assignments and priorities is required to address the dynamic needs of our customers and shifts in production requirements.
- Good verbal and written communication skills required, and proven experience with effective teams and continuous improvement methods strongly preferred.
- Familiar with and Understand Safety requirements under OSHA 19.10 and 19.26
- Excellent task prioritization, communication and management skills.
- Proficiency in personal computer skills, including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, work order systems, ERP systems & spreadsheets.
- All other duties as they may be assigned.
Special Working Conditions:
- Works in a manufacturing plant environment, including time on the production floor with employees. Schedule may demand flexible hours outside of a normal business day.

Manufacturing experience required.
A four-year college degree is preferred but not required.
