About the Job:
The Box Machine Operator position operates the box former machines and coordinates the process to ensure safety and efficiency.
Main Responsibilities:
- Performs machine start-up procedures, basic controls, and machine operations. Understands material requirements/types and performs product handling procedures.
- Feeds carton into box former machine according to customer and/or company's specifications.
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions of the machines to the department supervisor and maintenance department.
- Complies with all food safety and GMP requirements.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong verbal communication, reading, writing and math skills required.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to operate hand and electric pallet jack to move loads up to 1000 Lbs.
- Strong sense of urgency and personal accountability.
- Detail oriented and organized.
Work Environment:
- Frequently exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
- Occasionally exposed to work in different areas and near wet floors.
- Loud noise level in the work environment and job sites.
