Boat Handler / Campground Crew
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide customers with the knowledge and proper equipment to ensure an overall safe and fun experience on the Delaware River and while at Indian Head Canoes. The job also entails general campground cleanup and low-level maintenance. This is an active job. Applicant must be physically fit and able to lift and carry boats through the course of the day.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Organize customers into properly fitted life jackets and equipment.
- Accurately log and track boat rentals.
- Command the attention of groups of all sizes to be able to give a proper safety speech.
- Lift and move boats to and from the river accesses. Training is provided for proper lifting.
- Customer service, such as greeting customers on and off the river.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in cleaning customer bathrooms and general campground cleanup
- Assist in general maintenance or repairs. Skills training provided.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Athletic capability and endurance to lift boats throughout the course of the day.
- Present a friendly attitude with greeting customers.
- Communication, organization, and public speaking skills required
- Ability to work on projects solely, as well as in a team environment. One that can lead by example or possess self-starting skills is a plus.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- Available to work flexible hours (i.e. mornings or later nights, weekends and holidays)
- Must be at least 15 years of age
