What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Psychologist position at Indian Health Service?
This position is located in the Standing Rock Service Unit Behavioral Health Department, Fort Yates, North Dakota to provide direct clinical services to eligible American Indian clients and their families. This position requires knowledge in providing patient care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and elderly patients. This position is under the administrative supervision of the Supervisory Clinical Psychologist.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Basic Requirements
Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology. These two specializations have additional educational requirements, as stated below:
Clinical psychology: For positions at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required.
Counseling psychology: For positions at grades GS-9 and above, satisfactory completion of 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or satisfactory completion in an accredited educational institution of all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology is required.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-13: 1 year of specialized experience that has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples Include: Directly responsible for the oversight of behavioral health services; develops policies and procedures, establishes behavioral health standards of care; provides administrative supervision for behavioral health staff to ensure compliance with accrediting bodies; provides psychological care and consultation services to patients.

Responsibilities:
- Provides services to individual, family therapy, psychological testing and evaluation, crisis intervention, community consultation, outpatient services, consultative psvchological services.
- Provides intensive clinical practice consisting of professional judgment and the ability to use a wide range of psychological skills.
- Provide Behavior Health in-service training for Behavior Health Staff and other Behavior Health partners to include Indian Health Service staff and Tribal programs using Behavioral Health Services
- The Clinical Psychologist carries full professional responsibility for cases representing a wide range of psychosocial, cultural and environment problems, the /\!Ork is complex and changes continuously, depending on the situation and clients risk/needs.
