Type: Tribal Salary Range: $45,448 to $68,723 / Per Year Open Period: 12/3/2014 to 1/3/2015 Summary: The Clinical Informatics Training Coordinator will be a subject matter expert and is responsible for providing clinical information system application training to providers, nursing, health care clinicians, and ancillary staff. This position will provide full time technical and training assistance for staff using the RPMS (Report and Patient Management System), Vista Imaging and Capturing in EHR (Electronic Health Records). The Clinical Informatics Training Coordinator will be responsible for compiling monthly and by request statistical and clinical outcomes reporting for the clinic to include the diabetes program. The position requires the ability to foster and maintain positive and close working relationships with provider and clinical staff in all departments, and thereby recommend system changes and enhancements to Administration and to the EHR vendor, as well as provide ongoing updates, training, and feedback to clinical staff in regard to best use of the EHR Duties: *Works diplomatically and effective with management, staff and public. *Knowledge of medical insurance contracting and billing processes, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD-9 (International Classification of Diseases) coding, and financial and operational analysis. *Maintains security of confidential files, materials and record-keeping system. *In concert with IT, Medical, Dental, and Administration assists employees with learning the various IHS GUI systems, Dentrix Dental software, Basic RPMS Usage, IT Equipment, as well as Microsoft Office. IE: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. *Identifies Personnel that may require more direct group or one on one training needs and works with supervisors to schedule training times for personnel on the RPMS, EHR (Dental and Medical) and Vista Imaging software. *Works with providers, managers, nurses and support staff to assess and recommend clinical workflow changes and application enhancements for increased operational consistency and efficiency and the achievement of population health objectives. *Achieves customization and configuration of RPMS’s EHR clinical modules for increased efficiency of clinicians’ time and improvement in quality of patient care with input from the Physician/Medical Director. *Develops user manuals, policies/procedures and reference materials that are clinically relevant to current practice. *Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at times. *Works in cooperative and cohesive fashion with Directors, Managers, and Supervisors while serving on the IT Team which comprises Tribal IT, Indian Health Services local and Area IT, and contracted IT services with the Tribe. Qualifications: *Must have a High School Diploma or GED certification *Must have at least three (3) to five (5) years working with various practice management and EHR solutions ideally in a medical office setting. *Must have two (2) to three (3) years’ experience working and reporting with pivot tables *Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Healthcare Clinical Informatics, Business, Statistics, Health Information Technology or Mathematics *Five (5) to seven (7) years working with various practice management and EHR solutions systems ideally in a medical office setting. *Prefer at least two(2) years of office management experience *Experience with Athenahealth, NextGEN, RPMS, Greenway, EPIC Software *One (1) to three (3) years working in a Tribal or Indian Health Service Clinic.
