Type: Tribal Salary Range: $175,000 to $210,000 / Per Year Open Period: 1/9/2017 to 12/31/2017 Summary: Winslow Indian Health Care Center [WIHCC] is a Tribal 638 Program located in the north central Arizona along the Interstate-40 highway in Winslow, Arizona. WIHCC serves the healthcare needs of the Native American Indians in the southwestern portion of the Navajo Nation involving the communities of Winslow, Dilkon, Leupp, Tolani Lake, Teesto, Seba Dalkai, Indian Wells, Jeddito, and Whitecone.
Under general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Family Practice Physician provides comprehensive medical care services to patients of Winslow Indian Health Care Center, in addition to obstetrics, including prenatal care, infant delivery and postpartum care. Recruitment bonus of $25,000. Duties: Interviews and examines patients, reviews past medical history, and requests and/or performs diagnostic test and examinations necessary to obtain all possible information for each case. Diagnoses and treats patients of all ages with a wide range of medical problems ranging from routine preventive care to the more complex and difficult to identify and treat, including emergency care. Maintains privileges to provide inpatient care for WIHCC patients referred to Little Colorado Medical Center . Provides obstetric care to WIHCC patients, including prenatal care, infant delivery and postpartum care. Refers patients for admission to acute medical inpatient settings when care cannot be adequately provided in-house or at LCMC. Takes regular 24 hour on-call rotation for admissions and medical coverage at LCMC as shared by WIHCC Medical Staff members. Coordinates integrates information on all such referrals and assures provision of timely follow-up care as required. Makes appropriate entries of all care provided in patient medical records in accordance with Winslow Indian Health Care Center policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements, requirements of accreditation bodies and third party payers. Maintains regular attendance and punctuality. Uphold all principles of confidentiality and patient care to the fullest extent. Adhere to all professional and ethical behavior standards of the healthcare industry. Interact in an honest, trustworthy and dependable manner with patients, employees and vendors. Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity Qualifications: Requires a degree in medicine, completion of three years of family practice residency at an accredited institution, board certification or eligibility in Family Practice, and licensure as Physician in the State of Arizona.
