Type: Tribal Salary Range: $50,779 to $81,246 / Per Year Open Period: 11/17/2014 to 11/17/2015 Summary: This position is fifty percent clinical and fifty 'percent management. The incumbent will function as an primary care nurse and nursing manager. S/he will establish goals and priorities in accordance with patient and staff needs and organizational objectives and ensure adherence to JHHS policies and procedures. Patient care assignment includes all age groups. Duties: 1. Performs the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. 2. Complete timely, accurate and legible documentation of patient care. 3. Under direction of the Medical Director, work with clinic staff to develop programs and procedures related to the provision of clinical services and continuous improvement of patient care services. 4. Establish and approve work schedules and work assignments for nursing staff and radiology technician. 5. Review performance of those employees under direct supervision. 6. Conduct meetings with the nursing staff to explain work requirements, standards of care, best practices, methods and procedures. 7. With Medical Director and Executive Director Clinical Programs, develop, maintain currency and adherence to JHHS and department policies and procedures. 8. Participate in root cause analysis of critical clinical events and resulting action plans; 9. Participate actively in accreditation processes and standing committees, 10. Participate in development and review of clinical policies and procedures. 11. Participate in continuing education relevant to the practice at the Jemez Health Center to enhance clinical knowledge, skills and maintain licensure; likewise, ensures other nursing staff receive appropriate continuing education units and maintain licensure. 12. Participate in specified health promotion, educational and prevention programs . 13. Follow established policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards. 14. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Licensed, Bachelor's prepared nurse in State of New Mexico. Master's degree preferred. CPR Certification, or must obtain within 30 calendar days of date of position. Three to five years direct patient care experience. Family Practice or Urgent Care experience preferred. Minimum two years management experience required. Towa speaker preferred.
