Type: Tribal Salary Range: $87,069 to $131,685 / Per Year Open Period: 12/3/2014 to 1/3/2015 Summary: The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) is responsible for performing advance practice sessions within the scope of his/her license and training. Provides services consistent with the stated goals of assisting community members to maintain or increase their level of health by various medical practices or routines; maintains confidentiality of all privileged information. Duties: *Conducts comprehensive history and physical examinations. Interviews all patients of chief complaints, history of present illness, past medical history including allergies, childhood diseases and medications. Performs physical examinations, assesses and evaluate vital signs and functions. *Establishes medical assessment for acute/chronic health problems. Develops a patient care plan based on a comprehensive history and physical exam including: objective testing, medications and consultant services. *Orders, performs and interprets laboratory tests as follows: laboratory study, x-ray, CT, ultrasound and MRI. *Performs invasive procedures after successfully completing the didactic, instructional and performance criteria for competence. *Performs with special training, minor sutures or removal, complicated dressing changes and/or wound care. *Sets-up plan-of-care with the supervising physician evaluating all procedures. *Prescribes medications/IHS Formulary according to the following protocol:

•Commonly prescribed drugs: NP will prescribe
•Over-the-counter medications: NP will prescribe
•Commonly prescribed drugs: Non Formulary: NP will need pharmacy protocol adherence.
•Controlled substances: NP will prescribe subject to countersigning by supervising physician.
•Psychotropic medications: NP will prescribe with consultation and co-signature of supervising physician as well as referral to Behavioral Health Unit.
