In response to community needs and support of leaders in the health care field led to a feasibility and sustainability study. Therein the establishment of TMC as a P.L. 93-638 affiliate in 2010. TMCs satellite clinic located in Sanders, AZ moved to a new location and became Nahat'á Dziil Health Center, January 2016. TMCs newest endeavor is its 47,000 square foot Wellness Center located on the New Mexico campus of the AZ/NM state line and scheduled to open FALL 2017. Health on the Navajo Reservation has a unique personal interpretation the optimal level of wellness is distinctive to each patient. Accredited by CMS, TMC provides general outpatient and inpatient healthcare to 16 surrounding communities. TMC also provides same-day surgery, a diagnostic center, a growing network of primary care, ancillary services, Nahat'á Dziil Health Center and a Wellness Center opening FALL 2017. Duties: Assumes responsibility for the primary care of a wide variety of pediatric patients, both inpatient and outpatient, as scheduled in the Pediatric Outpatient Clinic and Inpatient schedule. Participates in pediatric call-in rotation with other members of the Pediatric Department. Interviews and performs examinations of patients, including complete history and physical examinations when indicated. Orders, performs, reviews and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests and studies. Diagnoses a wide variety of illnesses and conditions. Prescribes a wide variety of therapies and interventions based on information obtained and professional medical judgment for pediatric patients with a variety of chronic and acute conditions. Initiates, reviews and modifies medications and therapies as indicated. Arranges for specialized care or transfer of patients requiring a higher level of care or care not readily available at TMC. Maintains medical records and documentation of interviews, examinations, therapies, interventions and follow-up plans. Provides various consultations/instructions of care, within the scope of practice to providers in the department, in other departments, and to other referring hospitals. Performs chart reviews or other data gathering to contribute toward ongoing Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement projects as assigned by the Chief of Pediatrics. Provides ongoing pediatric medical education for rotating medical students, residents and students of other health care disciplines instructs, supervises and evaluates students and residents. Attends and participates in Pediatric Department meetings and in Medical Staff meetings. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: EXPERIENCE: The incumbent must possess the following for the position: Minimal educational and licensure requirements as an MD or DO. Completion of three years of Residency training in Pediatrics. BC or BE by the American Board of Pediatrics. Pediatrician covers the full range of pediatric cases, including the very difficult in the specialty with very little or no technical assistance and the recognition and treatment of disease syndromes which require referral including those which are difficult to discern or identify. Incumbent works and consults with other Pediatricians. Knowledgeable of service unit Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and comply with all requirements for appointment and maintain status as an active member of the medical staff. Works on a regularly assigned, rotation or call back basis to provide continuity of care during evenings, nights, holidays and weekends. A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references and current employers.
