Type: Tribal Salary Range: $135,664 to $203,496 / Per Year Open Period: 3/23/2015 to 3/23/2016 Summary: Provides comprehensive ambulatory care health service to children, birth to early adulthood including diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic services. Works with the medical director, other staff physicians and physician assistants, nursing staff and other clinical support staff. Duties: 1. Provides comprehensive ambulatory care health service to children, birth to early adulthood, according to evidence based standards of care. 2. Covers a complete range of health services including but not limited to assessment of patients, evaluating the effectiveness of care, and modifying treatment or making referrals as necessary. 3. Elicits and records clinical history from the patient. Performs physical examinations and records necessary patient information on APC and medical record. 4. Provides for the full range of assessment of needs, planning for care, teaching and performance of routine and emergency procedures for patients and families. 5. Performs routine laboratory and screening techniques such as urine analysis, gram stains, wet preps, dextrose determination, hematocrits. Generally renders an initial interpretation, discriminating between abnormal and normal signs and findings. Orders all other tests from lab and takes appropriate samples, cultures and specimens. Performs simple eye examinations, audiometry examinations and EKG tracings of patients. 6. Diagnosis medical conditions of patients within scope of training. Prescribes medications and treatment therapy and/or directs nurses and non-professional health personnel in carrying out appropriate therapy. 7. Provides oral and written communications to parents or caretakers of pediatric patients along with the patient age permitting. Instructs and counsels patients regarding matters pertaining to their physical and mental health, such as diets, social habits, family planning and birth control, normal growth and development, aging, and understanding long term management of their disease, and application of physical therapy modalities. 8. Writes and maintains medically accurate and legally defensible notes of all visits and interactions with the patient and/or parents/caretakers of the patient using RPMS/Electronic Health Record. 9. Enhances professional development through participation in educational programs, meetings, and workshops. 10. Perform job related duties as assigned. Qualifications: M.D. or D.O. graduate from a U.S. accredited medical school or school of osteopathy. Current valid and unsuspended medical state license. Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics or Combined Internal Medicine Pediatrics. Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Pueblo’s policy.
