Job Summary: KPHC is seeking one full-time Technical Writer to work at the Santo Domingo Health Center. Santo Domingo Health Center operation hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Position Details: The Technical Writer will be responsible under the direction of the CEO and other assigned KPHC professionals in the writing and submission of grant proposals to public and private funding entities. Must be able to serve as secondary Grant administrator in instances where the primary Administrator is unavailable. Provides on-going technical support for successful grants to assure compliance with reporting guidelines. Assist as needed with progress report writing. Seeks updated information concerning appropriate grants for potential Tribal submission based on skills available and health priorities. Works with various divisions within the corporation to gather health information through research, statistical reports and records to provide assessments for assisting the CEO with strategic planning including clinical utilization and priorities. Duties: Administrative Duties:
• Must possess excellent writing and grammar skills and be able to work independently, delivering accurate documentation under deadline pressure.
• Must be able to explain and write scientific and technical ideas in layperson language.
• Coordinates a variety of technical writing and administrative support activities in order to facilitate the administrative priorities of the KPHC and SDHC.
• Maintains Corporation policies and procedures and assists as needed in their editing and formatting.
• Writes technical direction on product announcements, marketing brochures, advertisements, and marketing specifications.
• Prepares charts, graphs, or forms to go along with working drafts of grants and reports.
• Writes articles and reports on current trends in health field for Corporation publications.
• Submits draft work products to managers for feedback.
• Receives and disseminates correspondence directly to the appropriate offices or individual staff members for action and/or response concerning work products.
• Organizes and maintains files and records, manuals, handbooks, and other related materials as needed.
• Establishes correspondence pertaining to grants, meeting minutes and talking points. Automation Duties:
• Uses word processing and other types of software to process and produce a wide range of documents, some of which require complex formats in support of the office automation functions. Examples include creating, editing, and reformatting lengthy reports requiring advanced functions such as those required to generate tables of contents, statistical data with multiple columns, technical directives, correspondence, and lists of exhibits; using database or spreadsheet software to enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for standard or special reports; and using graphics software to provide graphics symbols, charts, and graphs. Other duties as assigned:
• At the discretion of the supervisor, other duties not specifically described may be required from time to time to meet objectives and obligations of the Health Center. Qualifications: Minimum Mandatory Qualifications: Experience: - Must have at least five years' experience in a professional office environment, preferably health related.
