This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop and implement a comprehensive student recruitment plan for all academic programs, as well as supervise all department staff. Included will be developing comprehensive campus visit day experiences for prospective students and their parents.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Experience in a college admissions department required; experience with supervising staff in a leadership role preferred.
  • Knowledge of software utilized in recruiting students and moving them through all life cycle stages to become enrolled.
  • Ability to develop and implement a strategic enrollment philosophy, manage and motivate Admissions staff to meet goals and expectations.
  • Ability to create effective visit day events for the college.
  • Ability to interpret and effectively analyze data related to operations and services.
  • Assist with college Co-curricular Assessment
  • Ability to prepare concise records and reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with college and district employees at all levels and with members of the community.

Work Performed

  • Oversee daily operations and provide leadership for the Department of Admissions.
  • Coordinate w/Executive Dean of Enrollment Services in developing, implementing and evaluating recruiting philosophy.
  • Assign recruiters with specific recruiting areas – and then through CRM (Communications Relationship Management) software, have territory-specific communications being sent to students. Work with Director of Communication and Retention to develop communication plans within CRM software to move students through the life cycle to become enrolled students.
  • Work to develop enrollment goals based on historic data, current data and enrollment trends.
  • Lead strategist in developing comprehensive campus visit program that includes all individual and group visit events.
  • Supervise and formally evaluate the staff in the Department of Admissions.
  • Oversee and manage the budget process for the department, including supervising proper use of purchasing cards for staff.
  • Work with Director of Communication and Retention and campus staff to assist in the creation, implementation and maintenance of all communications plans for prospective students, and visit event invitations.
  • Plans travel, visits high schools and represents the College at college day/night programs and other recruiting fairs.
  • Work with High School Programs Team to maintain consistent communication and work together to develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors, teachers, administration, and referral agencies to keep them current with IHCC programs.
  • Coordinate efforts with the Marketing office with regard to publications, web and social media presence in addition to other advertising (print, multi-media) opportunities for prospective students and families along with college and community partners – high school administrators, counselors, teachers, etc.
  • Assist Admissions Representatives in the oversight in implementation and development of Student Ambassador Program.
  • Point of contact for all campus visit events.
  • Represent the college in a positive manner.
  • Work with Marketing to assist in the content development of college brochures, posters, newsletters, ads, and promotional materials.
  • Assist students and their parents with information about visiting and applying to IHCC in addition to navigating the process to register for orientation and ultimately register for classes.
  • Assist in the hiring process of qualified individuals for employment within the department.
  • Keep in contact with prospective students through CRM communications and direct follow-up communications (phone calls, social media, zoom, and text) to move them to the next step in their life cycle.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work with the Marketing office in developing the content that will be sent to prospective students in all communications plans, print and electronic communications.
  • Serve as a member and attend meetings of Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) committee.
  • Accept and perform responsibilities that may require work to be performed other than normal assigned hours (night and weekend).
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
