Job Title: Assistant Banquet Manager
Location: Indian Hills Country Club Mission Hills, Kansas
Department: Food and Beverage
Reports To: Director of Clubhouse Operations and Banquet Manager
Job Summary:
The Assistant Banquet Manager oversees the setup, execution, and breakdown of all banquet functions ensuring seamless coordination with the food and beverage, culinary, and other departments. This role involves supervising service staff, providing leadership, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate event setups, service plans, and staff assignments.
- Oversee audio-visual equipment setup and breakdown.
- Managing inventory for alcohol and food items
- Serve as primary point of contact for event hosts.
- Keeping staff on task, engaged and accountable for responsibilities.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding needs
- Ensure all staff duties are completed before checking in with management
- Act as a resource and support system for banquet staff
- Perform all responsibilities of a banquet server when needed
- Training and mentoring new staff members
Qualifications:
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience in event set up and tear down within a hospitality setting
- Ability to work independently or with others and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Training and team management experience preferred
- Restaurant or hospitality experience required
Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in hospitality, or related field preferred
Restaurant, banquet or event management experience required
Working Conditions:
Full time position
Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required
