Overnight Security Officer
Part-Time
Friday - Sunday
10:00pm - 6:30am
~ 25 hours per week
Candidates must have overnight availability, including weekends and holidays.
The rate for this position is $21.00/hour, plus an additional $2.00 shift differential for overnight shifts.
Overnight Security Officers are responsible for the security and safety of the hotel, guests, employees, visitors and vendors; and for providing exceptional service for our guests. This involves maintaining a visible presence to provide guests with a sense of comfort and well-being. Officers have the opportunity to interact with our guests and associates by assisting them with questions, directions, incident reports, problems and emergency situations. Other duties include maintaining accurate logs and completing building patrols.
Key Responsibilities:
Patrolling Premises:
- Regularly walking through the hotel grounds, including guest rooms floors, common areas, parking lots, and exterior perimeters to check for suspicious activity, security breaches, and potential hazards.
Surveillance Monitoring:
- Actively monitoring CCTV cameras to identify any unusual behavior or security concerns with special attention to our areas that maintain water flow.
Access Control:
- Checking identification of individuals entering the hotel during late hours and ensuring only authorized personnel are allowed access.
Incident Response:
- Investigating and responding to security alarms, disturbances, suspicious activity, medical emergencies, or other incidents that may occur during the night shift.
Reporting:
- Documenting all security incidents, observations, and unusual activity in detailed reports.
Communication:
- Maintaining clear communication with the front desk, management, and local authorities as needed.
Emergency Procedures:
- Being prepared to implement emergency evacuation procedures in case of fire or other critical situations.
Qualifications for this position:
• Previous security related experience or hospitality experience preferred.
• Candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Candidates must be comfortable dealing with emergency situations.
• Candidates must be comfortable using stairs and walking moderate distances.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
• Refined verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in basic computer skills.
