JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision this position provides on-demand technical assistance to students, supports their success by addressing basic technology needs, and ensures a welcoming, service-oriented environment. Fosters a supportive atmosphere for students and ensuring seamless navigation of college resources and technology.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide friendly, individualized technical support to students in areas such as accessing college systems, basic troubleshooting, and navigating online resources.
  • Guide students in using college technologies, including MyPioneerPortal, learning management systems, Office 365, and other essential tools.
  • Assist in maintaining the Student Help Desk's operational efficiency by identifying common issues and suggesting improvements.
  • Support student success through direct interaction and by promoting available resources, such as workshops, tutorials, and events.
  • Collaborate with Student Help Desk staff, faculty, and college departments to deliver excellent service.
  • Maintain an updated knowledge of college systems, policies, and procedures to better assist students.
  • Assist with equipment checkouts and ensure proper documentation and usage guidelines are communicated.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, web-based platforms, and email systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Willingness to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for a diverse student population.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm under pressure.
  • This position includes flexible scheduling, with the potential for evening and weekend shifts based on student needs.
  • Travel to branch campuses may also be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
