Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting students? Indiantown High School is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Student Services Specialist! This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic journeys while keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, this position serves as a resource to the public and provides general secretarial and clerical support. Duties include assisting students in enrollment and registration; maintaining student files and records; assisting with purchasing and procurement of supplies and materials.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Composes and maintains correspondence; answers telephones; processes mail; and gathers and records documentation related to the school.
- Enrolls and registers students; maintains student applications.
- Maintains the student database, computer files, and records (including attendance and standardized test scores) along with assisting with FTE requirements via the Focus and Workday databases.
- Maintains hard copy data and reports as directed; collects and distributes data per procedure or directives.
- Updates computer information continuously to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
- Prepares materials for presentations.
- Collects and deposits school funds; tracks and reports monthly expenditures.
- Orders materials.
- May interpret and provides transcripts.
- Functions as a resource guide for visiting groups.
- Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree preferred; two (2) years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- K12 school experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Focus preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and office practices.
- Skill in collecting and depositing school funds.
- Skill in organizing, entering data, collating, and maintaining files/records.
- Skill in working with Microsoft Office, Excel and Windows based applications and working with mainframe data.
- Ability to be accurate and detailed oriented, be efficient, maintain confidentiality, be diplomatic, and work independently.
- Ability to provide basic first aid and health assistance – certified in CPR and basic first aid (or willing to be trained / re-trained).
- Ability to collect and deposit school funds.
- Ability to interpret and provide transcripts.
- Ability to serve the public as a resource for Indiantown High School.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as light work involving lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities. If someone can do light work, we determine that he or she can also do sedentary work, unless there are additional limiting factors such as loss of fine dexterity or inability to sit for long periods of time.
