   Location: 5668 S. Straits Hwy Indian River, Michigan, 49749  There is so much to love about Indian River! There are so many things to see and do in a beautiful up-north atmosphere. During the winter months, enjoy snowmobiling, skiing, and snowshoeing to ice fishing and other outdoor activities. When Spring and Summer comes you can go canoeing, golf, play on our beaches, fish or just relax. It is perfectly located halfway between Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. It also has Michigan's famed Inland Waterway which connect Crooked Lake, Burt Lake and Mullet Lake to Lake Huron, making it a boating and finishing wonderland. It also has some of the best power sports trails and routes in Michigan plus is an ATV, motorcycle and snowmobile friendly community!   Requirements:

Responsibilities

How you'll make an impact: 

 

• Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP. 
• Diagnose, perform surgery, and treat patients.  

• Maintain excellent client communication.  
• Record all pertinent medical, client and case related information in the patient record accurately with appropriate grammar, terms, and accurate information.  
• Review medical records, estimates or discharge instructions with clients.  
• Call clients for follow up and to discuss results.  
• Set standards of care/protocols for medical and surgical areas. 

• Maintain practice growth and review financial reports.  
• Communicate clearly and accurately through written and verbal interactions.  
• Work in collaboration with practice manager for administrative management.  
• Deal with clients in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism. 
• Mentor team members in the training program for career advancement and personal development towards goals. 

• Provide feedback and changes to the training program. 
• Provide guidance to the support staff to assure that the shift flows well. 
• Provide input to the hospital manager for 360-degree employee performance evaluations. 

Qualifications

Ideal Qualifications:

• Ability to lead and establish a vision for the practice team. 
• Proven ability to perform all basic surgeries, including use of all standard medical instruments and equipment.  

• Must be proficient in a variety of skills ranging from but not limited to laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental and nursing skills. 
• Ability to demonstrate patience and composure in stressful situations, and ability to handle a fast-paced environment. 
• Ability to stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis. 
• Ability to give SQ, IM and IV injections. 
• Knowledge of usage, dosage, and common side-effects for commonly used prescription drugs and ability to readily explain them to the clients. 
• Knowledge of the common anesthesia and recovery states and ability to alert veterinarians when symptoms change or when concerns arise with hospitalized patients. 
• Ability to properly extubate, monitor temperature and recover a patient from anesthesia. 
• The employee must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics, and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently. 
• To perform this job successfully it will be necessary to become proficient in the use of the practice management software.
