Indian Rocks Christian School (IRCS) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Christian educator to lead our High School Yearbook and Journalism/Communications classes. The ideal candidate will be committed to Christ-centered education, integrating a biblical worldview into instruction while fostering students' creativity, collaboration, and technical skills in producing the school’s yearbook and developing journalistic and communication abilities.
- Teach and guide students in the production of the school yearbook, covering elements such as photography, design, journalism, and layout.
- Instruct students in journalism and communications, covering topics such as news writing, media ethics, public speaking, and digital storytelling.
- Develop and implement engaging lessons that align with IRCS’s curriculum and incorporate a biblical perspective on storytelling, media, and communication.
- Foster a love for creativity by incorporating hands-on learning experiences in photography, graphic design, digital publishing, and multimedia journalism.
- Encourage teamwork, leadership, and responsibility as students take ownership of yearbook content, journalism assignments, and publication deadlines.
- Integrate faith into learning experiences, helping students explore the relationship between storytelling, ethical communication, and biblical truth.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support student growth, academic achievement, and spiritual formation.
- Actively participate in school events, professional development, and community activities as part of the IRCS team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Graphic Design, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Teaching credentials and experience in journalism, photography, design, yearbook production, or communications.
- Strong commitment to Christian discipleship and the mission of Indian Rocks Christian School.
