What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Coach Varsity Football position at Indian Rocks Christian Schools?

Essential Functions:
- Familiarity with and enforcement of school, league, and state athletic policies.
- Represent the school positively in the community while prioritizing student-athlete development over external pressures for winning. Serve as the program’s primary public representative, maintaining good relationships with media, parents, volunteers, and fans.
- Exercise sound judgment and uphold high ethical standards.
- Develop and oversee in-season, off-season, and developmental programs.
- Establish the program’s philosophy, skills, and techniques; ensure consistency across all levels.
- Mentor staff, provide training opportunities, and evaluate assistant coaches with the Athletic Director.
- Create and maintain a competitive game and event schedule approved by the Athletic Director.
- Provide mentorship, ensuring athletes grow in skill, character, and academics. Monitor grades, conduct, and eligibility of student-athletes.
- Establish and communicate training rules and regulations.
- Support student-athletes with college and career planning.
- Coordinate facility use, equipment maintenance, and scheduling.
- Ensure all incidents and injuries are reported promptly.
- Recruit and oversee student managers, assistants, and statisticians.
- Manage program budget and recommend equipment purchases.
- Promote the program within the school and community while adhering to FHSAA standards.
- Organize and participate in team celebrations, awards programs, and preseason meetings.
- Previous coaching or playing experience at or above the varsity level.
- Strong technical knowledge of the sport and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Proven ability to organize and supervise a comprehensive sports program.
- Maintains a positive learning environment with high standards of conduct for student-athletes.
- Must give testimony and evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and sense the call of God to a serving ministry.
- Clearly communicates a Christian philosophy of athletics.

- Must be an active member of Indian Rocks as defined below:
- Regular attendance in worship services
- Regular attendance/involvement in an Indian Rocks Connection Group or Small Group
- Committed to systematic stewardship and faithful in tithing
- Certifications
- CPR and First Aid.
- NFHS certifications: Coaching Principles, Sudden Cardiac Awareness, and Heat Illness.
- Annual professional development as required.
