The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment. This role ensures that production processes run smoothly and efficiently by performing regular maintenance, addressing equipment malfunctions, effectively communicating with impacted departments, and implementing preventive measures. To successfully perform this job, an individual will require a combination of technical experience and hands-on skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - include the following.
A. Routine & Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce the likelihood of unexpected failures.
B. Troubleshoot and Repair: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
C. Equipment Installation: Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper operation and safety compliance.
D. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance in conformance with auditing standards.
E. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
F. CMMS: Navigate, maintain, and improve Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) processes.
G. Collaboration: Work closely with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve equipment-related issues and improve overall efficiency.
H. Flexibility: Work within a planned schedule up to and including 12-hour rotating schedule that includes weekends as scheduled, and/or needed for production.
I. Toyota Production System: Conduct all work in accordance to lean manufacturing principles and processes alone or in a group setting.
J. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience as an industrial maintenance technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of industrial safety practices and regulations. Proficiency in using hand and power tools and welding equipment. Understanding of PLC logic and systematic approaches, preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Computer program skills, such as Microsoft Office Suite, are regularly used to communicate and gather information. Fluent in English. Japanese as a second language is helpful.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Desire to proactively and collaboratively work toward solutions with cross-functional team input.
