In this role you will repair tooling used for our machines, so they operate correctly to produce excellent quality fasteners. In this role you may read blueprints and complicated schematics to build new fixtures, tools and machine parts. You may have to diagnose tool problems after fixing or repairing the tooling.
Tool Room Essential Duties and Responsibilities are the following :
- Use of general tool knowledge, understanding of Inner and outer dimensions, micrometers, calipers, special gauges and visual comparator, diagnose tooling problems including :
- Dimensional issues
- Hardness Issues
- Fit Issues (loose fit, slip fit and press fit)
- Surface finish issues
- Manual CNC machine and lathe knowledge preferred.
- Use precision measuring equipment.
- Able to read blueprints and complicated schematics as required, and build new fixtures, tools, and machine parts.
- Inspect cold forming and thread rolling machine die tools for compliance to blueprints specifications.
- Use polishing lathe, turret lathe, grinder, hydraulics press, and other equipment.
- Make repairs and or modify tools to prints or to direction for the engineers or coordinators.
- Clean, measure and document selected tooling
- Provide support for the machine operators in our cold forming heading, and thread rolling areas to help improve quality and performance of tooling.
- Performs cleaning and organization practices daily in the workplace.
- Complete preventative maintenance when scheduled.
- Must be able to work and schedule OT as required.
- And of course, other duties as assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Fluent in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
