Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team at our Detox Residential program located in downtown Bloomington. The ideal candidate will have experience in both residential and commercial painting, with a strong understanding of color theory and the ability to read blueprints. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring high-quality finishes on various projects. The Painter will work closely with other tradespeople and contribute to the overall success of construction and remodeling projects.
Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm (There may be some weekend days if a certain project requires it)
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or cracks as necessary.
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Mix paints and match colors according to project needs.
- Perform trim carpentry tasks as needed to enhance finished projects.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the painting process.
- Restore surfaces as required, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal.
- Assist with concrete finishing when necessary for specific projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting, including both residential and commercial environments.
- Strong knowledge of color theory and its application in various settings.
- Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Experience in trim carpentry is a plus but not required.
- Skills in maintenance person tasks or general remodeling are advantageous.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude toward collaboration with others.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
