What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Indiana Coated Fabrics?
The Maintenance Technician will help to manage various functions including maintenance of production systems, as well as modification, improvement, and repair projects. In addition, they will assist in the plant’s electrical, mechanical, and facility maintenance activities to ensure the safest, most efficient, and productive facility. The ideal candidate will have the skills and experience to be a forward thinker. He or She should be able to take a big picture view of current production processes, determine how they interact with existing equipment and make recommendations for upgrades or process changes and have the ability to manage those from inception to implementation.
Responsibilities
- Required to perform certain duties during production machines set ups and tear downs.
- Perform a wide range of duties to install, repair and maintain production machines and other plant facility’s equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform schedule maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Coordinate with internal and external sources to resolve maintenance issues or repairs.
- Perform various skills including, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Provide and develop regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Comply with all safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly works areas.
Relationship Management
- Interact with various teams and their members to complete projects in a timely manner.
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Provide technical knowledge to facility personnel on troubleshooting failures and repairs, causes of equipment downtime, and viable solutions to the failures.
- Work as a part of the Maintenance team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous process improvements.
Experience Required:
Experience as a maintenance electrician/mechanic in an industrial manufacturing facility.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Trouble shooting skills to recognize complex problems and then creating viable solutions for them.
Good grasp of mechanical and electrical theory, production line control, instrumentation, and manufacturing process.
Ability to work independently and with others to finish projects in a timely manner.
Proficient computer skills in MS Office, with a heavy emphasis on E-Mail and Excel.
Knowledge in PLC’s, pneumatics, hydraulics, and 3 phase electricity, and welding.
Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
Ability to maintain and develop positive relationships both internally and externally.
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit or stand for sustained periods of time to perform maintenance on a variety of equipment.
Frequent standing and walking to move about the facility to monitor all maintenance projects and responsibilities.
Work Environment: A mix between heated and cooled office space, and a heated only production environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
