Overview
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a high school diploma, current certification as a Nurse’s Aide or Medical Technician. Current certification to perform first aid, CPR and to pass medication. Demonstrated skills working with children in a medical role. Experience in residential treatment with adolescents and adults with behavioral, cognitive, or emotional diagnosis preferred. Ongoing participation in in-service training experiences.
SUPERVISION: Reports to the Health Services Director. Has no direct reports
POSITION PHILOSOPHY: Direct Services team member with nursing assistant expertise. Extension of the Director of Health Services. Assists in ensuring quality health care and completing assigned health services tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS LISTED BUT NOT LIMITED TO: MAINTAINS A WORK SCHEDULE WHICH MEETS THE NEEDS OF THE DEPARTMENT AND AGENCY.
1. Works scheduled hours/shifts as determined by the Health Services Director. 2. Submits request for use of paid time off or schedule changes to the Health Services Director. 3. Submits accurately completed and signed electronic timecard to the Health Services Director. 4. When unable to report to work
: a. Attempts to have another Health Services employee work
. b. Notifies the Health Services Director if unable to work and find a replacement.
MEETS THE FOLLOWING OVERAL AGENCY TEAM EXPECTATIONS:
1. Demonstrates appropriate use of Agency Employee Handbook information and policies and procedures
2. Observes rules of confidentiality, both on the job and in the community
3. Uses and completes Agency forms per policy.
4. Takes action to ensure a healthy and safe environment for the residents by implementing applicable policies and procedures.
5. Reads communication logs, daily reports, records, memos, etc., to remain updated on treatment and overall Agency information.
6. Uses only Agency-approved treatment techniques in providing health care for the residents.
