About the Role
We are seeking an Emergency Medical Technician Ambulance Specialist to join our team and play a critical role in facilitating the organ donation process. You will work with a team including a paramedic and an organ recovery coordinator to safely transport donors to our recovery center. Your responsibilities will include:
Facilitate the organ donation process by operating Indiana Donor Network Ambulances
• Perform safe operation of ambulance on critical care donor transports from donor hospitals to Indiana Donor Network’s Organ and Tissue Center
• Perform safe operation of ambulances for transplant team movement to/from donor hospital/Indiana Donor Network/various local airports.
Ambulance Preparation
• Complete pre-transport documentation.
• Complete proper documentation for checking ambulance safe operations prior to transport.
• Identify needed supplies.
This is a part-time on-call position requiring a minimum of one 16-hour call shift per week.
Qualifications
Who We’re Looking For
We seek individuals who are passionate about patient care and the importance of organ donation. Ideal candidates will have the following minimum required qualifications:
- Must possess a valid Indiana Driver’s License.
- Must have an Indiana Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician issued by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security required or must be nationally certified and able to obtain the Indiana EMT Certification within 30 days of start of employment.
- Must show competency of ambulance operations by meeting one of the following:
- Certified in Emergency Vehicle Operations Course
- Currently operating emergency vehicles for occupation Benefits & Perks
