About the Role
The Import and Logistics Coordinator Level II is a great next step for our organ employees with ILC experience. This position is responsible for all import offers to local transplant centers, the logistics associated with the import process and all internal and external TxJet flight requests. This role expectation is to drive positive culture, provide excellence in training/education as well as professional representation of the ILC department within organizational meetings. In addition to ILC Level I responsibilities, will:
- Participate in new employee orientation and continuing education programs.
- Ensure all staff are appropriately trained to perform their assigned functions
- Partners with staff to develop and execute training and development plans to maximize import opportunities as well as professional development opportunities
- Acts as a lead preceptor for the ILC team
- Participates in annual clinical competency training and overall assessment(s).
- Participates in clinical boot camp as needed
- Selects or develops teaching aids such as training modules, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference works
- Provide ongoing professional education.
- Completes ongoing education requirements assigned by Supervisors and Managers in the Organ Department
- Hosts any internal and external shadow experience if on-shift during that time
- Represents the ILC department by participating in an IDN committee external to their own department
- Participation in organization meetings as needed
Qualifications
Who We’re Looking For
- The candidate must meet one of the following minimum prerequisites:
- Completion of an advanced degree in Transplantation & Donation Sciences
- Registered Nurse
- Certified Paramedic
- Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) with current ABTC certification
- An equivalent amount of OPO experience in a clinical setting and a High School Diploma with additional post-secondary allied health training
- The candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in the Organ Department, with 1 of those years as an ILC.
- The candidate must have current BLS certification or obtain certification within 6 months of hire or transfer into this role.
