As the Organ Administrator On-Call you will be responsible for the oversight of the process of donor management, allocation of organs for transplant/research, and organ recovery, according to
UNOS, OPTN, CLIA, and Indiana Donor Network guidelines, policies, and regulations. You will provide the evaluation of hospital referrals to determine medical suitability for organ donation for both brain dead and DCD patients. The Organ AOC will also be the initial and ongoing contact with non-local customers regarding the use and logistics of TxJet in cooperation with Jet Logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as a resource for Organ Recovery Coordinators, Family Advocates, Clinical Liaisons, and Clinical Support Coordinators.
- Determines potential donor suitability in collaboration with Indiana Donor Network clinical leadership and the CMO.
- Acts as a resource for donor management.
- Determines the allocation plan on donor cases based on the patient’s medical history, Indiana Donor Network policies, and UNOS regulations.
- Determines the use of on-call staff and facilitates coverage for organ donor cases.
- Serves as a point of contact for Organ Staff if issues were to arise on a case.
- Determines DCD suitability in collaboration with Indiana Donor Network Clinical Management and the CMO.
- Evaluation of all hospital documentation to ensure that it fulfills the requirements of the hospital policies and Indiana Donor Network policies for both brain death and DCD processes.
Qualifications
Must be an Organ Recovery Coordinator with at least 2 years of experience in an organ procurement organization. Must have the recommendation from organ leadership. . Must have current CPTC, ABTC, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
