SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
As our Systems Administrator, you’ll be the unsung hero of our IT operations. You’ll be serving others to keep our systems humming, our data secure, and our team smiling. From troubleshooting tricky tech to optimizing our infrastructure, you’ll be the go-to wizard for all things IT.

This role may also manage facility vendor relationships for the organization. The main duties include identifying the organization’s technology needs, implementing updates and improvements to current software and systems and ensuring employees’ technical issues are resolved efficiently.
The ideal candidate has a solid technical foundation, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff as well as our members.
The ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends, may sometimes be necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology Leadership
Develop and lead the strategy for selection / deployment of technology applications / platformsDevelop a positive working relationship with and an understanding of the work performed by all functions across the organization to meet their needsAssist with the negotiation and administration of vendor / consultant contracts and agreementsOversee the technology project portfolio and regularly coordinate with functional groups to prioritize and scope solutions that solve their business problemsCreate policies, standardize procedures and develop employee training to ensure data integrity, quality and securityResponsible for procurement, deployment, development, maintenance, records management and support of all IT systemsAssess and report on the effectiveness of IEC's communication tools, provide innovative ideas and advise on best practices for multiple target audiences.System Administration
Maintain audio visual systems, physical servers, network infrastructure and end-user equipment and assess needs for the futureOversee hardware replacement strategies and perform new system setups for employeesManage updates, patches, and configuration changes across multiple platforms while maximizing system uptimeMaintain updated documentation of system inventories and configurationsTrain users on custom developments and advanced uses of existing systemsProject Management
Analyze the needs of projects, document requirements and develop a plan to meet the project objectivesEvaluate and manage project communication plans and implement change management techniques throughout each projectLead projects to meet their defined objectives with demonstrated measurable outcomeThird-Party System Administration and Configuration
Maintain third-party systems and grow in an understanding of their capabilitiesLearn about new system functionality and attend training events to gain knowledgeSubmit and track knowledge exchange and community enhancement requests / ideasWork with subject matter administrators to design solutions within the third-party solutions that meet their vision and needsDevelop methods to automate cumbersome / tedious administrative tasks to ease the administrative burden on subject matter administratorsCybersecurity
Maintain security guidelines, procedures, standards and controls documentationSafeguard IT assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security threatsAbility to recognize problems by identifying abnormalities and reporting violationsLead employee training against phishing and all other forms of cybercrime tacticsGeneral Support
Responsible for promptly and efficiently investigating and solving user hardware, software and network issues with patience and a positive attitude.Keep detailed records of issues to identify and address the sources of common problems.Support and assist in the maintenance of a Windows domain with additional exposure to Virtualization and Linux serversPrioritize and organize work on employee software issuesUse outstanding communication skills for interaction with other employeesOTHER FUNCTIONS
Provide administrative support to the Information Technology professional section on behalf of IECUpdate job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations, etc.Perform other duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an equivalent of the following education and / or experience.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Technology or closely related field or equivalent experience preferredFive (5) years of systems administrator experience preferredFive (5) years of office and administrative experience preferredTwo years of cybersecurity management experience preferredCompTIA A Certification and CISSP – Computer Information Systems Security Professional certification preferred.Experience as a liaison with vendors for facilities maintenance a plusExperience with learning management systems a plusValid driver's license.If you meet the qualifications above and are interested in this position, please attach a cover letter and resume and provide salary requirements with your application per the link below.
