WIC Nutritionist CPA Job Overview:
- Conducting WIC Certifications: Engaging in the vital process of certifying eligible participants for the WIC Program
- Measurement and Analysis: Taking precise anthropometric and biochemical measurements to inform health assessments
- Nutritional Evaluation: Performing thorough nutritional assessments to understand clients’ dietary needs
- Care Plan Development: Crafting and documenting tailored care plans, ensuring all WIC chart documentation is complete
- Client Support Services: Providing essential referrals, managing appointment schedules, and distributing food packages
- Educational Programming: Planning, executing, and assessing the impact of nutrition education within the local WIC program
- Operational Assistance: Aiding in the organization and management of WIC program operations
- High-Risk Education: Delivering specialized nutrition education to high-risk clients and advocating for breastfeeding as the ideal nutritional start
- Community Relations: Facilitating public relations efforts to foster a positive connection between the WIC program and the community
- Record Keeping: Diligently preparing, updating, and reviewing records and reports to ensure accuracy and promptness
- Leadership Role: Assuming supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Site Supervisor to maintain program continuity

- Education: RN, RD
- RN: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with a background in maternal and child health, nutrition
- Active Indiana license
- Minimum of B.A. or B.S. in nutrition or dietetics
- Deemed WIC Nutritionist eligible after a transcript has been reviewed by Indiana State Department of Health to determine adequate credits attained were attained in the areas related to nutrition
- RD/RDE Registered Dietician or Registered Dietician Eligible
- Registered Dietitian or eligible for registration, active registration, in good standing with the State of Indiana
- One year of previous work experience with WIC and/or nutritional counseling
- International Board Certified Lactation Consult (IBCLC) preferred
- Previous experience in a maternal and child health or public health setting
- Work well with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural staff and groups
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
