Description
The Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE) is one of the nation's largest health information exchange organizations. IHIE has been around for over a decade, with its roots dating back 30 years. As a not-for-profit HIE, we enable hospitals, physicians, laboratories, payers, and other health service providers to avoid redundancy and deliver faster, more efficient, higher quality healthcare to patients in Indiana. Today, by making information available to approximately 50,000 healthcare providers in Indiana and neighboring states, we deliver services that make a real difference in health and healthcare.
Indiana Health Information Exchange's (IHIE) Finance Team supports the overall financial health and resource allocation of the organization. We are seeking a part-time (16 hours / week) Finance Assistant to support our day-to-day transactions, including expenses and payroll journal entries. Finance Assistant responsibilities include processing check deposits, maintaining cost reports, and managing invoices. This role includes recording and tracking financial transactions, assisting in preparation and review of financial statements, and performing administrative tasks. Summary : The Finance Assistant works closely with the Controller to ensure accurate and timely accounting processes are completed. Additionally, it provides support to the Finance Department by completing routine financial information entries, data accuracy reviews, and general administrative assistance. This role will exercise strong attention to detail, communication, organizational and troubleshooting skills.
Essential Functions :

- Update financial spreadsheets and systems with daily transactions (i.e. Quickbooks, Bill.com).
- Track and reconcile bank statements.
- Process customer check deposits.
- Provide administrative support during budget preparation.
- Assist in annual audit.
- Assist in preparing financial statements.
- Record accounts payable and receivable, make deposits, and process invoices.
- Allocate and receive payments, including supplier invoices and staff expenses.
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks for team members.
- Receive new customer contracts and update billing and deferred revenue spreadsheets.
- Compile data and check against internal records for accuracy and notify finance team of discrepancies.
