The Data Analyst will support the university by reporting, maintaining, cleaning, and analyzing institutional data. The Data Analyst will assist with the data collection and completion of surveys. This position assists in the collection and management of institutional research reporting and projects. The Data Analyst will create and maintain Power BI dashboards and provide reports to meet compliance requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Acquire and maintain a deep understanding of university data and apply best practices to working with databases, tables, and extracts
- Work closely with other institutional offices to ensure data integrity of institutional data
- Assist with data collection and analysis of internal and external surveys, assessments, and reporting
- Process the catalog and distribute the weekly Friday enrollment report, Term Freeze data files, and other IR data as needed
- Prepare and maintain reports for a variety of internal and external customers including grants and federal and state compliance requirements
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of institutional reporting and research including Power BI dashboards
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Ability to adjust to changing needs and processes while anticipating challenges, identifying problems, and developing solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Ability to plan, analyze, and work through problems, detail-oriented
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
- Skilled in Excel
- Ability to write and analyze SQL coding language
- Working knowledge of Power BI or other business intelligence software
- Time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of partners in a diverse community
Experience
- Minimum of three years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Preferred experience in Jenzabar or a similar Student Information System
- Preferred experience with regulatory reporting (ex. IPEDS)
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines
Working Conditions
Fully remote, work is normally performed in a typical remote interior/office work environment. Availability to be on campus for necessary events/meetings on an as-needed basis is required including but not limited to; employee-recognition events, graduation, meetings, etc.
