Job Summary
Responsible for the overall operation of the Regional Distribution Center in supplying the Transmission & Distribution regions with all material, supplies, and equipment, other than items which must be delivered directly to the field location. Responsible for the supervision of personnel and activities involved in receiving, storing, and controlling distribution center inventory and line transformers, distributing stock, and accounting for all material, supplies, and equipment in the distribution center.Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain adequate and proper inventories to supply the material needs of all operation Storerooms in the Company.
- Supervise the proper scheduling of deliveries for materials being supplied to other storerooms from the distribution center.
- Supervise physical receipt, storage, and disbursement of all materials within the distribution center.
- Supervise stores layout, material storage, and arrangement of materials and supplies.
- Coordinate the procedures associated with cycle inventories; clear discrepancies; maintain related records; and oversee related accounting activities utilizing electronic data processing.
- Control and coordinate the processing of purchase and repeat requisitions.
- Supervise inventory control, eliminating excess and obsolete materials.
- Supervise the maintenance of the various procurement manuals utilized in the distribution center operations.
- Foster good working relationships with vendors and manufacturers.
- Administer approved procedures and practices governing the requisitioning of materials for operation and maintenance.
- Coordinate material supply matters related to the Regional Distribution Center with personnel throughout the Company.
- Make recommendations for improving the operation and utilization of the Regional Distribution Center.
- Supervise and coordinate the hauling, storage, and disposal of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and other regulated material and equipment.
- Supervise the handling and record keeping of line transformers.
- Direct the use of the materials management system and the use of computer terminals needed in the operation of the distribution center.
- Provide the needed training for the distribution center employees.
- Administer the Company Job Performance Review and Merit Salary programs, Management Information and Policy Manual, Labor agreements, Employee Handbooks, and supplements related to assigned personnel. Recommend the promotion, demotion, selection, discipline, and dismissal of assigned personnel.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education requirements are listed below:
- Bachelor degree in business administration or equivalent education and/or experience.
Work Experience requirement listed below:
- Minimum of five years experience in the AEP Supply Chain Organization, preferably with 2 years Supervisory experience as a Stores supervisor and or Regional Distribution Center Superintendent or equivalent experience in the material services profession.
Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:
- Valid State Drivers License.

- Acceptable written and verbal communications skills.
- Must have a good working knowledge of the practices and procedures of the Company pertaining to the receiving, issuing, and storing of materials.
- Must be a good administrator and have the ability and knowledge to work effectively with other departments of the Company, assisting them to secure required equipment, materials, or supplies within the Company.
- Must have demonstrated the ability to supervise employees, coordinate their work, and receive, interpret, and transmit orders. Must be able to lead in a manner which obtains effective work results.
- Working knowledge of the material needs of all functions in the Company, of all accounting requirements to be met, and of procurement practices and procedures.
- Must be able to see information on computer screen and use computer keyboard.
- Must be able to hear spoken words via telephone, cell phone or during individual or group meetings.
