The Manager, Information Systems’ role is to ensure the streamlined operation of Indiana Donor Network’s information technology needs in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. Responsibilities include:
- Leadership: Provides direction to and manages the selection of a small team of IS professionals. This includes training, development, and performance of assigned staff to retain a motivated, productive, and professional workforce for Indiana Donor Network.
- Maintain Comprehensive Knowledge: Continuously develops and maintains a thorough understanding of all applications and in-house enhancements to foster innovation and improve operational efficiency.
- Project Management: Serves as a project manager on all Information Systems needs within Indiana Donor Network.
- Innovate Systems and Processes: Oversees computer systems, telecommunications, and network operations, identifying opportunities to implement cutting-edge solutions that enhance efficiency and streamline workflows.
- Smart Technology Integration: Strategically orders, installs, and supervises the implementation of hardware and software solutions to minimize workflow disruptions, maximize productivity, and stay within budget constraints.
- Strategic Procurement Management: Directs the procurement of computer hardware, software, and supplies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, innovation strategies, and budgetary guidelines.
- Proactive Problem Management: Oversees system problem/service logs and maintains detailed documentation to enable proactive troubleshooting and long-term solutions.
- Secure and Optimize Network Administration: Leads network administration and security initiatives, leveraging innovative practices to safeguard and enhance the organization's digital infrastructure.
- Maximize Vendor Collaboration: Manages external systems support vendors, negotiate service agreements, and ensure solutions are tailored to the evolving technological needs of the organization. Drive innovation by fostering partnerships that deliver advanced technological capabilities.
- Evaluate and Implement Cutting-Edge Services: Assesses and recommends service agreements for equipment maintenance, repair, software support, network/server optimization, cabling, and other critical technology services, prioritizing innovative solutions to meet organizational demands.
Who we are looking for
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management information systems, computer science, or equivalent is required; Five (5) to Seven (7) years progressively responsible experience in a professional information technology role required. Position requires strong technical knowledge of IT concepts and expert computer skills, evidenced by experience in systems or applications programming, database administration, information security, and/or general information technology end-user support. Previous project management experience required. Previous management experience preferred.
In addition, the preferred candidate will have the following skills and abilities:
- Ability to quickly learn industry-specific systems and technologies and apply knowledge to enhance utilization of systems
- Aptitude to trouble-shoot system problems and define/apply solutions
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills and attention to detail
- Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner at all times
- Ability to respond effectively to common inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the general community
- Ability to work cooperatively within a group to make the work of the group successful and effective
- Ability to maintain open, clear, timely, and expected channels of communication; present ideas clearly and persuasively; and respond well to questions
- Ability to exercise considerable discretion and independent judgment when making decisions and interacting with executives, customers, Board of Directors, and others
- Ability to complete projects on time and escalate challenges appropriately
- Ability to shift priorities quickly and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
