Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialty Gas Lab technician to join our team. As a member of our specialty gas department, you will be responsible for the daily tasks of preparing, filling, and analyzing specialty gas cylinders. Along with keeping production on schedule, follow SOP guidelines and ordering necessary gas standards and supplies. This is an industrial job that requires physical labor.
Responsibilities
- Process cylinder orders and put on schedule for filling to keep with estimated shipping times.
- Follow SOPS on all aspects of specialty gas filling
- Comply with several regulations (DOT, EPA, OSHA, CGA)
- Handle aluminum and steel cylinders with proper equipment
- Properly prepare cylinders for filling process
- Fill high pressure pure and mixed gases using manual and auto blend cells
- Use gas chromatography and process gas analyzers to certify gas mixtures
- Prepare product with proper labeling and paperwork
- Produce report on cylinder order status
- Troubleshoot analytical equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 2-4 years of Specialty/Industrial Gas experience preferred
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Proven experience in a laboratory setting, with a focus on gas analysis or related fields
- Familiarity with gas chromatography and process gas analyzers
- Ability to move 50lb cylinders
- Ability to stand, sit, walk for extended hours
