What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Maintenance Manager position at Indiana Precast Inc?
Maintenance Manager
Location: Indiana Precast – Columbus, IN
Position Summary:
Indiana Precast is looking for a hands-on, highly organized Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance and keep production moving. Your #1 job is simple: keep the mixer running and production on schedule. That means prioritizing the right tasks, staying ahead of problems, and being ready to jump in when things go down.
We rely on a variety of heavy equipment and systems every day— Concrete mixer with PLC, aggregate belts, cement silo, 6 forklifts, 4 overhead cranes —and all of them need to be ready to go. If you’re someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, knows how to fix things (or how to get the right people there fast), and can juggle a dozen moving parts without dropping a ball, we want to talk to you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Keep the concrete mixer and all supporting equipment operational to avoid downtime.
- Prioritize maintenance tasks based on production needs—production comes first.
- Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
- Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance.
- Manage ongoing and upcoming maintenance projects from start to finish.
- Stay organized and maintain equipment logs, maintenance schedules, and service records.
- Lead daily and weekly checks to prevent equipment failure.
- Support the production team with problem-solving and quick fixes to minimize delays.

- Leadership mindset with a team-first attitude
Work Hours:
- Start time: 5:30 AM
- End time: When the day’s production is done (hours vary, depending on the pour schedule)

- You can roll with the punches and shift gears when needed
- You’ve got the grit to work hard and the head to stay organized
