What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Caregiver position at Indiana Public Schools?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others may be assigned.
- Must have a CDA, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Must be at least 18 years of age, (must be 21 years of age to work with infants)
- Prior Childcare experience preferred
- Must be CPR / First Aid certified - or willingness to obtain (must renew yearly)
- Knowledge of Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana licensing standards preferred. Willingnessto learn is a must.
- Professional dress and appearance is a must.
- Must be competent in language arts and math.
- Ability to interact professionally with adults and children with a positive attitude.
- Maintain confidentiality on job related tasks.
- Must be willing to learn, set professional goals, and participate in job related training.Performance Responsibilities : Others may be assigned.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the classroom in a calm and consistent manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom.
- Ensure the classroom meets all Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana State licensingstandards. Classrooms must be in compliance at all times.
- Strictly adhere to Safe Sleep guidelines for Child Care Centers.
- Monitor student's progress; communicate milestones with parents.
- Administer record keeping on all children; including but not limited to daily records, monthlyobservations, and bi-annual progress reports.
- Use curriculum effectively and write lesson plans based on each child's ability anddevelopmental level.
