- Keeps buildings and facilities in clean and orderly condition.
- Performs daily cleaning of restrooms and showers in the student living spaces.
- Vacuums hallways in student living spaces.
- Maintains daily the public spaces of our residential areas.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position as well as the ability to move about the workplace for long durations. It requires effective communication, the ability to operate machinery, tools, and controls. The role requires the ability to ascend / descend ladders / stairs, and to position oneself in low level positions, detect a variety of chemicals and / or gases. The person in this role must be able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds multiple times per shift. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Must be available to work during inclement weather (i.e., snow and ice) when weather emergencies dictate that the department is needed to take care of the campus.

Work Location
Bloomington, Indiana
Advertised Salary
Indiana University is currently paying a shift premium of $0.50 per hour on top of the regular hourly rate to Custodian - Foundational for hours worked between 3 : 00 pm and 8 : 00 am, provided at least 6 hours are worked between those times.
Work Hours
40 hours per week, 7 : 30 AM - 4 : 00 PM. The schedule consists of Saturdays and Sundays with additional weekdays.
