IU Health Bloomington Hospital is currently l ooking for a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner to serve the Peri-Operative Department to help with Onboarding and Orientation such as Peri-Op 101, and other onboarding training. This role will also support student partnerships and shadowing with our academic partners in the region. This role is part time, schedule is flexible. The Practitioner-Nursing Professional Development (NPD) utilizes NPD practice judgment and expertise to improve and influence professional role competence and growth of learners in a variety of settings with a desired outcome to support the IU Health Way. Six primary responsibilities of this role include onboarding/orientation, competency management, education, role development, collaborative partnerships, and inquiry. This role often functions in these responsibilities at a unit or facility level partnering with leaders and other stakeholders to achieve strategic goals and initiatives.
- Bachelors Degree of Nursing (BSN) required.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department/specialty according to patient care policies.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Two years experience preferred.
- Must have the ability and willingness to travel as needed to meet the system educational needs.
- Must have the ability to display knowledge and utilization of principles of adult learning.
